CPUC HOLDS PUBLIC PARTICIPATION HEARINGS ON
GOLDEN STATE WATER'S RATE INCREASE REQUEST
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 22, 2011 -- The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold Public Participation Hearings regarding Golden State Water Company's rate increase request.
The dates and locations of the Public Participation Hearings are as follows:
· November 28, 2011, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.:
Rancho Cordova City Hall Council Chambers, 2729 Prospect Park Dr., Rancho Cordova
· November 29, 2011, 6 p.m.:
Ambrose Community Center, Auditorium, 3105 Willow Pass Rd., Bay Point
· November 30, 2011, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.:
Clearlake City Hall Council Chambers, 14050 Olympic Dr., Clearlake
· December 2, 2011, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.:
South Bay Community Center, 2180 Palisades Ave., Los Osos
· December 5, 2011, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.:
Carson City Hall Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 701 E. Carson St., Carson
· December 6, 2011, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.:
City of Claremont's Taylor Hall, 1775 N. Indian Hill Blvd., Claremont
· December 7, 2011, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.:
Cora Harper Fitness Center, 841 Barstow Rd., Barstow
· December 8, 2011, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.:
Town of Apple Valley Council Chambers, 14955 Dale Evans Parkway, Apple Valley
Public Participation Hearings are scheduled to provide the public an opportunity to comment on Golden State Water Company's request. Comments from the public can help the CPUC reach an informed decision, and consumers are encouraged to attend. The CPUC is interested in comments about the rate application and any aspect of Golden State Water Company's operations, customer service, or other issues related to the company.
Written comments may be submitted to: CPUC Public Advisor, 505 Van Ness Ave., Room 2103, San Francisco, CA 94102 or via email to public.advisor@cpuc.ca.gov. Please refer to Golden State Water Company's Application number A.11-07-017 on any written or email correspondence. All public comments received are provided to the CPUC's Commissioners and the Administrative Law Judge assigned to the case.
Privately owned water companies in California cannot increase their rates without CPUC approval. Golden State Water Company filed its Application with the CPUC to request permission to raise its rates, stating that increases are necessary to meet its goals to ensure a safe and reliable source of supply, improve infrastructure, and to promote the efficient use of water.
