SAN FRANCISCO, February 27, 2012 - The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) today welcomed Lynn Sadler as its new Governmental Affairs Director, effective March 12, 2012.

Ms. Sadler most recently served in the Public Adviser's Office of the California Energy Commission, following several years as CEO and board member for numerous conservation non-profit organizations.

Said CPUC Executive Director Paul Clanon, "We're lucky to have Lynn joining our team as we grapple with public safety, consumer protection, transparency, and the environment - all the public issues at the top of our agenda and important to the Legislature and other public officials."

Ms. Sadler started her career in Governor Brown's office, helping to launch the then newly created Department of Personnel Administration. She later directed numerous election campaigns before joining the Planning and Conservation League as Natural Resources Director and lobbyist.

Said Ms. Sadler, "The CPUC is where so many key issues - such as energy, communications, water, transportation and jobs - all converge. I am very much looking forward to being part of the CPUC team that works to guarantee all Californians reliable, safe, and affordable utility services."

The CPUC's Governmental Affairs office assists California ratepayers, state and federal legislative offices, and local government officials with utility issues regulated by the CPUC. Ms. Sadler will direct the activities of the Office, including monitoring legislative activity and overseeing the preparation of formal analysis of bills.
