Description:
On May 30, 2006, Eric Jacobson, Chief, Regulatory Relations, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), participated in a meeting with Pres. Peevey in San Francisco. Pres. Peevey participated in the meeting by video conference from Los Angeles. Also present were Nancy Ryan, advisor to Pres. Peevey, Fong Wan, Vice President, Energy Procurement, and Brian Cherry, Direct, Regulatory Relations, for PG&E, and Marc Joseph, attorney for the Coalition of California Utility Employees (CUE). Jacobson recommended that the proposed decision be modified to adopt a 30-year non-bypassable charge as agreed to in the Settlement between PG&E, The Utility Reform Network, Division of Ratepayer Advocates, and the CUE and California Unions for Reliable Energy. Jacobson stated that it was equitable to recover stranded costs, of any, from the Contra Costa 8 generation facility over the 30-year depreciation life of the asset. Joseph, Wan and Cherry explained the importance and rationale behind a 30-year non-bypassable charge.
