On March 25, 2003, Bruce Irion, a manager at Equilon Enterprises LLC dba Shell Oil Products' (Shell) refinery in Martinez, met with David Gamson, advisor to Cmmr. Brown, Lynne McGhee, advisor to Cmmr. Kennedy, and Kevin Coughlan, advisor to Pres. Peevey, in three separate meetings in San Francisco. In the meeting with David Gamson, also participated Peter Hanson, advisor to Cmmr. Brown. Present at all three meetings were Keith Howard and Sean Beatty of Cooper, White & Cooper LLP, attorneys for Shell. Copies of an aerial photo of the site, a map of the subject parcel and a photo of the site (all attached to the notice) were used. Irion stated that the parcel of land that Shell seeks to purchase from Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is completely surrounded by the Shell refinery in Martinez. Irion also stated that the steam generator that previously occupied the parcel was decommissioned in 1985 and later torn down.
