Kraska stated that PG&E will be submitting its annual Transmission Assessment and Expansion Plan to the California Independent System Operator in mid-December, which will include a list of projects to be studied that have the potential to access renewable resource areas and promote reliability.

Dasso stated that the Commission should take a broad look at where transmission investments for renewable resources should be made, and not focus just on the Tehachapi area. Dasso presented a map of the northwestern states and western Canada and requested that the Commission consider the transmission investments that would be required to import power from these areas.
