that recommends smart inverter capabilities that could be required to ensure
the long-term safety, reliability, and efficiency of the power grid with high
penetration distributed generation.

Commission will hold a workshop for parties to discuss their rate design
proposals filed in response to the Assigned Commissioner’s Ruling requesting
proposals.
At the June 25th Workshop, each party will have the opportunity to
give a detailed presentation on specific rate design elements from their
proposal. Professor Severin Borenstein of the Haas School of Business UC
Berkeley will provide general observations on the proposals. Parties will also
have the opportunity to discuss the need for additional workshops. A detailed

The ALJ Division has prepared draft Resolution ALJ-290 for the August
15, 2013, Commission meeting. The resolution would amend the Rules of
Practice and Procedure (Title 20, Division 1, of the California Code of
Regulations) to reflect changes in the Commission’s administration, provide
consistency between the rules, and provide greater clarity. Notice of this
draft has been sent to subscribers to the Rules-Update list for notification of
proposed changes to the Rules of Practice and Procedure. (See http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/PUC/practitioner.)
Notice of these proposed amendments was published in the California
Regulatory Notice Register 2013 no. 21-Z on May 24, 2013. Any person may
submit written comments concerning the proposed rule amendments. The written
comment period closes at 5:00 p.m. on July 8, 2013. All comments must be
served on ALJ Hallie Yacknin by email at hallie.yacknin@cpuc.ca.gov or
by post at California Public Utilities Commission, 505 Van Ness Avenue, San
Francisco, CA 94102.
