 Transportation Passenger Carriers

Passenger carriers (limousines, airport shuttles, charter and scheduled bus operators, and others) obtain permits or certificates after providing financial responsibility and safety information to the PUC, including evidence of liability insurance and a California Highway Patrol safety inspection.

Before You Hire A Company!

  • Read our Consumer Advisories
  • Look through our list of passenger carriers (list also includes moving companies) to determine whether the company has an operating permit with us and whether it is insured, the headquarters of the company, and more!
  • Download a comma-delimited file of passenger carriers.
  • Or call us to find out if the company you're considering hiring is licensed! The toll-free telephone number is 1-800-894-9444.
  • Read about our ongoing and past  PUC investigations of limousine companies.

Problem With The Company You Hired?

If you have a problem with a limousine, shuttle or scheduled bus company, you can file a complaint with the PUC and we will investigate it.  The toll-free telephone number is 1-800-894-9444 or mail in your complaint.
