Climate Change Activities of the PUC

The PUC has been engaged in proactive climate change work since 2004. Current climate change work is contained in the Commission's Rulemaking on greenhouse gas policies (R.06-04-009), which is divided into two phases.

1) Implementation of a Greenhouse Gas Emissions Performance Standard

2) Consideration of a Load-based Greenhouse Gas Emissions Cap - Phase 2

3) September 20, 2007: PUC opens a proceeding to analyze and act upon a proposal by the University of California to create the California Institute for Climate Solutions - Read our Press Release
