Utility Tariff Information

The Commission regulates four types of Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs):  Electric, Gas, Steam, and Petroleum Pipeline Companies.  Commission-approved tariffs (official rates and terms of service) for these four types of IOUs are maintained in hardcopy form. However, several utilities have posted tariffs on their own web sites – please see the links below.

Tariffs posted on utility web sites may or may not be "official" copies. Utility tariffs must include service area maps which have not been available online; however, the Energy Commission maintains various maps on its website including an electric utility service area map and a natural gas utility service area map.  Utilities update their tariffs via advice letter filings with us.
