SENATE RULES COMMITTEE ADVANCEMENT
FULL STATE SENATE CONFIRMATION UPCOMING
SAN FRANCISCO, January 10, 2007 -- The California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) today announced that the Senate Rules Committee voted unanimously to advance the confirmation of Commissioner Rachelle Chong to the PUC. The full State Senate is scheduled to vote on Commissioner Chong's confirmation on Thursday, January 11, 2007.
"I would like to thank the Senate Rules Committee, and particularly Senate Pro Tem Don Perata, for their action to advance the vote on my confirmation as a PUC Commissioner to the full Senate," said Commissioner Chong. "I look forward to the action of the full Senate, so that I may continue serving the people of California on the many important matters before the PUC."
Commissioners may serve up to one year at the Commission before confirmation from the State Senate is required.
