Description: On March 27, 2006, Richard Clark, Director of the Consumer Projection and Safety Division (CPSD), met with Kelly Hymes, advisor to Cmmr. Grueneich, in San Francisco. Also present were Lester Wong, advisor to Cmmr. Peevey, Belinda Gatti, advisor to Cmmr. Brown, and Vahak Petrossian, Program Manager, Daren Gilbert, Supervisor, Mike Robertson, Senior Utilities Engineer Supervisor, and Patrick Berdge, staff counsel, for the Rail Crossing Engineering Section (RCES) of the CPSD. A copy of the map (attached to the notice) was used. The RCES staff described the difficulties with the safety of the proposed crossing and the increased train traffic and increased highway-rail crossing collisions on the Metrolink corridor. The RCES staff noted that these were material changes to the proposed at-grade crossing at Flower Street that required a new consideration of the safety of the crossing. The RCES staff noted that there are other crossings nearby that do not have the serious problems of the Flower Street crossing.
