Description:
SUMMARY: On June 29, 2007, Ben Thompson, Vice President of WesPac Pipelines-Los Angeles LLC (WesPac -Los Angeles) participated in a community meeting hosted by Assemblyman Curren Price, of California's 51st Assembly District, and attended by Timothy Sullivan, advisor to Cmmr. Simon, at Hawthorne Memorial Auditorium in the City of Hawthorne, California. Also participated in the meeting were Tom Jensen, Vice President, and Jose E. Guzman, Jr., counsel, for WesPac-Los Angeles. WesPac-Los Angeles representatives provided a presentation on the proposed jet fuel pipeline to Los Angeles International Airport. Thompson presented a Power Point-based presentation (copy of the slides are attached to the notice) and a video. The representatives discussed issues of the project and stated that WesPac-Angeles is both a common carrier and a public utility. Jenson stated his understanding that public utility pipeline corporations possess the power of eminent domain.

Description:
SUMMARY: On May 16, 2007, Jose E. Guzman, Jr., attorney for WesPac-Los Angeles, LLC (WesPac-Los Angeles) met with Jaclyn T. Marks, advisor to Cmmr. Simon in San Francisco. Written materials (attached to the notice) were used. Guzman discussed the WesPac-Los Angeles application regarding the proposed jet fuel pipeline, and the City of Gardena's protest to the application. Guzman discussed the need for an independently-owned pipeline to transport jet fuel to the Los Angeles airport. Guzman stated that the City of Los Angeles had issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an environmental impact report and was conducting an environmental review of the proposed pipeline. Guzman argued that the issue of WesPac-Los Angeles' status as a public utility was a legal, not a factual issue. Contact Person: Jose E. Guzman, telephone: (415) 438-7225, email: jguzman@nossaman.com.
