CPUC INVESTIGATES ELECTROCUTIONS FROM
EDISON POWER LINE IN SAN BERNARDINO
SAN FRANCISCO, January 14, 2011 - The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is investigating the electrocution of three people today in San Bernardino by a downed power line of Southern California Edison (SCE).
Early this morning, a 12,000 volt electric transmission line came down in the backyard of a residence in San Bernardino and three of the residents were fatally electrocuted.
As the state agency charged with overseeing the operation of the state's utilities, the CPUC sent two inspectors to the site and is investigating to determine the cause of the downed line.
"This is a terrible tragedy and our thoughts are with the family's loved ones and friends," said CPUC Executive Director Paul Clanon.
