Pacific Energy Center |
Pursuant to Ordering Paragraph 12 in D.06-07-027, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will hold a second workshop for all interested parties on June 6, 2007, to discuss PG&E's proposed 12-24 month delay in submitting an Automated Data Exchange (ADE) application. The filing would include PG&E's proposal for an ADE service that would allow parties, such as customers, energy consultants, and energy managers, to obtain, with customer permission, automated daily access to SmartMeterTM gas and electric consumption data from multiple meters. The ADE service is separate from the Customer Web Presentment service that will provide customers access to their own data via the internet. Customer Web presentment is still scheduled to be rolled out concurrent with SmartMeterTM system deployment.
Since the first workshop on March 8, PG&E conducted a market assessment which determined limited or insufficient interest in the ADE service at this time. PG&E would like to delay formulating the ADE proposal by 12-24 months when interval meters will be more widely installed and greater familiarity with such data is likely to exist. A 12-24 month delay will also allow for potential new technology developments to be considered in this proposal.
At this workshop, PG&E will present the results of the market assessment, alternatives to the ADE service, the advantages of delaying the ADE proposal and current cost estimates for providing ADE. Customers will be given an opportunity to comment on this proposed delay.
If you plan to attend the workshop, please RSVP to Stella Zahariudakis at 415.973.4208, or email her at

May 30.

Draft Resolution Revising Procedures for the Issuance of
Charter-Party Carrier Certificates vailable for Public Review and Comment
A draft resolution (TL-19089) of the Consumer Protection and Safety Division (CPSD) that revises procedures for the issuance of charter-party carrier operating authorities will be on the June 21, 2007, Commission meeting agenda. The Commission may vote on this resolution at that time, or it may postpone a vote until later. When the Commission votes on Resolution TL-19089, it may adopt all or part of it as written, amend or modify it, or set it aside and prepare a different resolution.
The principal procedural change made by Resolution TL-19089 is to delegate authority to the Executive Director to issue new charter-party certificates. Currently, certificates are approved by the Commission by resolution at its regularly scheduled meetings. All other charter-party applications are already granted by the Executive Director through delegated authority. An amendment to Public Utilities Code Section 5374 effective January 1, 2007, allows the Commission to include new certificates in the delegated authority. Additionally, as a result of the repeal of Section 5375.1 (also effective January 1, 2007), a notice of each new charter-party carrier certificate application will no longer be placed in the Commission's Daily Calendar. Interested parties may review the draft resolution at the "Currently Open for Comment" section of the Commission's Internet site at www.cpuc.ca.gov.
Parties may file comments on the draft resolution. An original and two copies of the comments should be submitted to:

Draft Resolution Revising General Order 157-D Available for Public Review and Comment
A draft resolution (TL-19090) of the Consumer Protection and Safety Division (CPSD) that revises General Order
(GO) 157-D by modifying the definition of "limousine" will be on the June 21, 2007, Commission meeting agenda. The Commission may vote on this resolution at that time, or it may postpone a vote until later. When the Commission votes on Resolution TL-19090, it may adopt all or part of it as written, amend or modify it, or set it aside and prepare a different resolution.
Resolution TL19090 modifies the definition of limousine contained in Part 2.05 of GO 157-D to be consistent with the definition in Public Utilities Code Section 5371.4(i). The Code definition of limousine was revised effective January 1, 2007. Interested parties may review the draft resolution at the "Currently Open for Comment" section of the Commission's Internet site at www.cpuc.ca.gov.
