Summary

Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) requests authority to reconstruct two existing at-grade highway-railroad crossings along the ACTA By-Pass Track. The first crossing is in the County of Los Angeles and the City of Compton at the intersection of 134th Street/Pine Avenue with Alameda Street. The second crossing is in the City of Lynwood at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/Century Boulevard with Alameda Street. The Alameda Corridor consolidates 90 miles of existing trackage into a new rail corridor that is entirely grade separated. The Alameda Corridor greatly reduces present vehicular delays and provides improved goods movement without the adverse consequences of increased future freight rail traffic while at the same time sustaining economic growth. The By-Pass track provides freight train service to local industries in the immediate area adjacent to the Alameda Corridor.
