Summary
The County of Santa Clara Roads & Airport Department (County) proposes to widen the 6.6 mile Montague Expressway in the Cities of San Jose, Milpitas and Santa Clara from six to eight lanes (Project), and in conjunction with this project proposes to widen the existing grade-separated highway-rail crossing known as "Lafayette Street Overhead" over the tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad Company (UP) and Bassett and Lafayette Streets. A sketch of the project area is included as Attachment A.
