2. Noise Caused by Routine Inspection and Maintenance
Routine inspection and maintenance of the transmission line would be accomplished by either ground access or by helicopter, the use of which would increase as a result of Mitigation Measure V-4a (see, page A-27 of Attachment A), and would occur on average once a year. This would cause short-term or intermittent increases in noise along the inspection route or place of maintenance that may, depending on the equipment in use, be in excess of established local standards and/or ordinances resulting in significant and unavoidable impacts (Class I).
No mitigation measures have been identified that would reduce this impact to a less-than-significant level.
