RESOLUTION T-16899

Carrier Branch

June 16, 2005

R E S O L U T I O N

RESOLUTION T-16899. Voluntary revocation of Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity held by 10 companies. _________________________________________________________________

Summary

This resolution revokes, at the request of the companies, Non-Dominant Interexchange Carrier (IEC/IER) and Competitive Local Carrier (CLC) Certificates of Public Conveniences and Necessity (CPCNs) held by the 10 companies listed in the Discussion Section.

Background

The 10 companies listed in the Discussion section below were certificated by the Commission in their specified markets. All required tariffs were filed.

Each company has stated in a letter or advice letter to the Commission that it no longer has any customers and that it requests revocation of its CPCN.

Discussion

The companies that would be revoked by this resolution are the following:

The Telecommunications Division (TD) recommends that these requests for revocation be granted and that the companies' Utility Identification Numbers be cancelled. TD has determined that the companies have paid all surcharges owed.

This is an uncontested matter in which the resolution grants the relief requested. Accordingly, pursuant to PU Code Section 311 (g)(2), the 30-day period for public review and comment is being waived.

Each of the above companies has submitted a letter or an advice letter to the Commission requesting revocation. There is no reason to deny this request since these companies report that they have no customers and there are about 1,000 long distance and 300 competitive local carriers authorized to do business in these markets.
