CPUC COMMENTS ON GOVERNOR'S APPOINTMENT
OF NANCY RYAN TO DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 21, 2011 - The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) today commented on Governor Jerry Brown's appointment of Nancy E. Ryan as Deputy Executive Director for the CPUC.

Said Ryan, "Serving the people of California as a CPUC Commissioner has been the greatest of privileges for me. I am pleased that I can continue to serve by returning to my previous position as the CPUC's Deputy Executive Director for Policy."

Ryan submitted her resignation as Commissioner to Governor Brown on Thursday.

CPUC President Michael R. Peevey commented, "Nancy Ryan has been extremely valuable to the CPUC, and will continue to be so in her role as Deputy Executive Director for Policy. I look forward to continuing to work with her in this capacity."
