PUC COMMISSIONER GEOFFREY BROWN TO HOLD
OFFICE HOURS IN LOS ANGELES
Commissioner Geoffrey Brown of the California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) will hold office hours in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, from 10 a.m. to noon and from
2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Ratepayers, consumer groups, and community leaders in the Los Angeles area are invited to meet with Commissioner Brown to discuss important issues in energy, telecommunications, water, and rail safety.
The PUC office in Los Angeles is located at 320 West 4th Street (between Hill and Broadway), Suite 500. Call the PUC Public Advisor's Office at 1-866-849-8391 or 213-576-7055 to schedule an appointment with Commissioner Brown.
The PUC regulates investor-owned electric, natural gas, water, and telecommunications companies. It oversees licensing and safety of household goods moving companies, airport shuttles, limousines, and tour buses and oversees the safety of railroad operations.
Commissioner office hours are one of several ways the Commission seeks to improve public accessibility to the Commission, involve more people in decision-making, and answer questions about changes in utility regulation. Office hours are also an effective means for the public to alert Commissioners to individual concerns and community interests.
