PUC FINES PLEASANTON-BASED CAREFUL MOVERS
FOR OPERATING WITHOUT A VALID PERMIT

SAN FRANCISCO, February 22, 2005 -- The California Public Utilities Commission's (PUC) Consumer Protection and Safety Division has fined Suren Chris Sargisov, an individual doing business as Careful Movers, $750 after an investigation disclosed violations of the Public Utilities Code and Commission rules and regulations.

An administrative citation was issued for the following violations:

· Conducted six household moves prior to obtaining a household goods carrier permit;

· Conducted household moves without public liability and property damage, and cargo insurance coverage;

· Advertised moving services to the public prior to obtaining a household goods carrier permit;

· Failed to conduct a visual inspection of goods to be moved prior to issuing written estimates; and

· Failed to include required information, including a "Not To Exceed Price" on its shipping documents.

Careful Movers currently possesses a household goods permit, which was issued on April 14, 2004.
