Rule 16 requires an applicant that is not a natural person to provide evidence of its organization and qualification to transact business in California. As currently written, Rule 16 only addresses the requirements for corporations and partnerships; it does not address the requirements for other types of organizations. We propose modifications to apply Rule 16, on a more generic basis, to any applicant that is not a natural person. In addition, we propose to eliminate the unnecessary requirement that copies of a non-domestic corporation's articles of incorporation be certified.
