In accordance with the direction of the assigned Commissioner, a prehearing conference (PHC) is hereby scheduled for March 23, 2000 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Commission Courtroom in San Francisco. The purpose of the PHC is to identify relevant issues and address procedural matters. If necessary, an evidentiary hearing will be held at a date set at the PHC.
Parties are directed, pursuant to Rule 6.2, to file and serve PHC statements by no later than March 17, 2000. Each party's statement should concisely address the following subjects:
· status of settlement discussions, if any,
· the issues that each party intends to ask the Commission to decide,
· whether a hearing is necessary and, if so, a proposed hearing date,
· the preliminary list of witnesses that the party intends to call, with a brief description of the subject matter of each witness's testimony, and a statement regarding whether it will be submitted as prepared written testimony or live testimony,
· proposed dates for the service of prepared written testimony, reply testimony, and rebuttal testimony, and
· the anticipated number of hearing days.
Each party shall make a brief oral presentation at the PHC identifying the major issues in the proceeding, the party's position on the issues, the necessity for a hearing, and other relevant matters that the party wishes to present.
